We teach all of the fundamentals of guitar so that you can one day decide if you’d like to pursue acoustic, electric or nylon string.
We are experienced musicians with RCM and University level training. We take the time to get to know each student and parent, as well as your learning objectives. We create lesson plans to help you achieve your goals, whatever they may be.

It’s easiest on the fingers to learn on a nylon string guitar, however many of our beginner students learn on a regular steel string acoustic guitar.
We always recommend renting instruments from Long & McQuade. The rental plans are very feasible, and that way you don’t have to make a decision until you feel ready. The staff will help you choose a rental guitar that is the right size and style for you. Please keep in mind that if you are left-handed, you may feel more comfortable learning on a left-handed guitar.
Our motto at Inspired School of Music is that practice makes progress. We recommend more frequent and shorter practice sessions, rather than fewer, longer ones. For young beginners, we recommend 3-5 practice sessions between lessons. They can be anywhere from 10-20 minutes long.
